Seller and the buyer

Aim of the activity:

-The aim of the activity was to use the correct forms of ‘some’ and ‘any’ in a conversation between a buyer and a seller.

-Another aim of the activity was to work on your speaking skills, because we had to speak to each other.

The activity:

-Divide the class into two groups: one group are the buyers and one group are the sellers.

-The sellers have small pictures of the things they have in their store (the teacher divides the pictures among the sellers.)

-The buyers have a piece of paper on which they can find things that the seller is selling. There are only pictures on the piece of paper.

-The sellers have to find their own place in the classroom for their ‘store’.

The buyers walk around the classroom and ask questions to the different kinds of sellers.

For example:

Buyer: Do you have some umbrellas?

Seller: Yes, I have some umbrellas.

Or

Seller: No, unfortunately I haven’t got any.
